The Apple Event took place today, 14th September 2021. Here are all the announcements.
iPad
Apple CEO Tim Cook started by introducing the new iPad and promising new experience.
The iPad comes with A13 Bionic with a 20% faster GPU and allegedly 3 times faster than the best selling Chromebook.
The iPad now has a 12MP ultrawide camera with center stage video. The iPad also comes with true tone that adjusts the display depending on the room you’re in.
The iPad will ship with iOS15 and starts at $329 and available next week.
iPad mini
The iPad comes with a liquid retina display at 8.3″ with 500 nits of brightness. The touch ID is now at the top right of the device.
The new iPad mini has a 40% faster CPU and 80% faster GPU. The iPad mini now has a USB-C port with 10 times faster data transfers.
The iPad mini now has 5G. It also has a 12MP back camera with a true tone flash recording in 4K. The front camera has a 12MP front camera with 122° degree field of view. The device also comes with the Apple Pencil which attaches to the side of the device.
It starts at $499 and available next week.
Both iPad models are built with 100% recycled aluminum in the enclosure.
Apple Watch
The Apple Watch comes with fall detection added to watchOS8 and pausing and resuming workouts. It has 20% more screen area over Series 8, borders are now 1.4mm. It also has softer more rounded corners, 70% more brighter indoors when the wrist is down.
Keyboard has now been added to Apple Watch Series 7. It is crack resistant and IP6X rated and charges up to 33% faster than Series 6. The new Series 7 will offer up to 18 hours of battery life and include a charger that charges via USB-C instead of USB-A.
The Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $399. Series 3 is $199 and still available while the Watch SE is $279.

iPhone
The new iPhone is officially iPhone 13, as you would expect.
It has a flat edge design with a ceramic shield front and is IP68 rated. The camera lenses are arranged diagonally and the front face features a smaller notch.
The iPhone now supports 800 nits and up to 1200 nits outdoors.
The iPhone is now powered by the A15 bionic chip which uses nanometer technology. The CPU is apparently 50% faster delivering 30% faster graphics.
The iPhone 13 has a 12MP camera and a 12MP Ultra wide camera. The new camera gathers 47 percent more light. Larger 1.7micron pixels, f/1.5 aperture.
The iPhone 13 now has a new feature in video called cinematic mode. Focus transitions happen automatically. It anticipates when subject enters frame or looks away from the camera. It shoots in Dolby Vision HDR.
The iPhone 13 comes with 5G support.
It has a better battery life. The iPhone 13 is expected to last 2.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12. The iPhone 13 mini will last 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12 mini.
The iPhone 13 mini starts at $699, iPhone 13 at $799. Starting at 128GB storage and adding the 512GB option.
The Pro lineup
The iPhone 13 Pro comes in four finishes: graphite, gold, silver, and “sierra blue.” It has a new front with a 20 percent smaller notch and all three rear cameras are new. In this line is the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The iPhone 13 Pro uses the same new A15 Bionic, but in the Pro models there’s a five-core GPU with “50 percent faster graphics” than an unspecified competitor.
It comes with a new display, Super Retina XDR with 1,000 nits outdoor and ProMotion – variable refresh from 10Hz to 120Hz.
The iPhone 13 Pro comes with a new 77mm telephoto for 3x optical zoom. There is a 92 percent improvement in low light for ultrawide and new wide camera with 2.2x improvement in low light. It also adds the Macro mode for subjects with a minimum distance of 2cm with the ultrawide.
The iPhone 13 Pro lasts more than 1.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 Pro, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max lasts 2.5 hours longer than 12 Pro Max. While shipping, there is no plastic wrap on the outer box.
It’s just $999 and $1,099 for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. There is also a new 1TB storage option. Preorders are open Friday and will be available Sept 24th.
