Safaricom has announced that M-Pesa services will be momentarily unavailable for four hours to allow for scheduled system maintenance.
The corporation said in a release that the routine maintenance will begin at midnight on Saturday.

“Our M-PESA services shall be undergoing planned maintenance on Saturday 6th November 2021, starting from 2359 hours to Sunday 0400 hrs. During the maintenance, all M-PESA services including airtime purchase shall be temporarily unavailable,” the company said.
According to Safaricom, the date of the maintenance operation was chosen to be the least convenient for all consumers.
The telco highlighted that the system upgrades and maintenance are intended to accelerate transformation as part of investments and innovations.
M-PESA Africa & Chief Financial Services Officer Sitoyo Lopokoiyit hinted at new features saying the move is aimed towards enhancing the system by making it safer, secure and scalable and adding new features for the fintech community among other innovations.
