Following the release of larger groups (up to 512 individuals) to select users, WhatsApp is now developing another helpful group feature: the option to secretly leave groups.
The feature, discovered by Wabetainfo shows that when you want to exit a WhatsApp group, other people won’t be notified in the chat. Only group admins will be able to see who exits the group.
When you exit a group, WhatsApp normally adds a system message in the chat to inform all participants that you exited the group, this information will now only show up to group admins in the future. Group admins should always be notified about what happens in their groups, so it is needed to show them who exited.
In another beta test, WhatsApp is experimenting with rich link previews in Status updates. Sharing a link in a Status update presently simply shows the URL, whereas rich link previews would show a preview of the website being linked to, giving visitors an indication of what they may expect to see if they visit the webpage.
As is customary, WhatsApp has not provided a timeline for when these new capabilities will be available to the public while they are being developed with the help of beta testers.
