Gurbhej Dhillon, a former Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, has been named Chief Technology Officer of Flutterwave.
Gurbhej joins Flutterwave at a critical juncture, following the firm’s recently concluded Series D fundraising round, which valued the company at over USD 3 billion and allowed it to continue its rapid expansion.
Gurbhej, as the new CTO, will be in charge of further developing Flutterwave’s revolutionary technology platform, which presently enables integrations with key technology partners such as VISA, Mastercard, Discover Card Networks, and customers such as Uber, Flywire, Booking.com, and others. He will concentrate on strengthening the architecture and infrastructure, as well as providing leadership that will allow other technical and product leaders to produce the finest solutions that support customer business success.
Gurbhej comes to Flutterwave from Marcus by Goldman Sachs, where he was the Chief Technology Officer and Head of Lending Engineering. He has a wealth of experience in enterprise application architecture in the financial services and consumer industries. He was in charge of building systems to rapidly grow businesses while enhancing customer experience at Marcus, as well as establishing strategic alliances with various Fortune 500 organizations.
Prior to that, Gurbhej was CTO of Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Capital Markets unit, where he was in charge of the design, development, and implementation of key platforms that allowed clients to execute equity and debt product offerings.
