London-based consumer technology company, Nothing, will launch it’s first smartphone at an event on July 12.
The company founded by Carl Pei, a former director at OnePlus Global claims to craft intuitive, flawlessly connected products that improve consumer’s lives without getting in the way.
On March 23, 2022, Nothing announced its first smartphone named the “Phone (1)”. The phone will run on an Android-based operating system named Nothing OS.
The phone will reportedly contain have design components, glowing light strips on the rear, and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU.
This will be the company’s second product. Nothing’s initial product is the Nothing Ear 1, stylized as “ear (1).” The Ear 1 is a pair of wireless earphones that was released on July 27, 2021. The earbuds can be connected through Bluetooth and offer up to 34 hours of battery life when used with the charging case, and up to 5.7 hours with ANC turned off; 24 hours with the case utilized, and up to four hours with ANC turned on. The earphones are available for $99/£99/€99 on August 17, 2021.
On December 6, 2021, a Black edition was also announced, and it debuted on sale on December 13. Nothing also revealed that the Ear 1 earphones are now carbon neutral on that day.
