Tecno, a Chinese smartphone company, has appointed Kenyan artist Jacob Obunga, also known as Otile Brown, as its Chief Creative Officer and Brand Ambassador.
Otile Brown will headline Tecno’s next CAMON 19 Series, which is currently available for pre-order and will be announced on June 20.
According to Tecno, in his role as Camon series creative officer, Otile played part in the designing of the device. He will not only push the Camon 19 brand but also explain its functionality.
Little is known about the CAMON 19 series, but the lineup is rumored to include four models, including the CAMON 19 Pro 5G and CAMON 19 Neo. There are no additional details about the CAMON 19 phones.
However, some sites are already sharing leaks. According to The Clues Tech, the Camon 19 is expeted to have a 6.5-inch+ FHD+ IPS LCD Display with 1080×2400 Pixel Resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85 SoC and will have a16MP Front Camera and 64MP (f/1.8) Main + 2MP Depth or AI Lens Rear Camera. Both Rear and Front Cameras can record up to 1080P at 30fps. The phone will have a 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM, with 128GB of eMMC 5.1 Storage, it might be expanded up to 1TB via Micro-SD Card Slot. We should expect a 5000mAh battery.
Global launch is expected on June 14th.
Camon Series phones have long been known to market its camera capabilities and technology.
TECNO stated at MWC 2022 that the CAMON 19 series camera will have an RGBW high-transparency crystal molded lens, technology created in collaboration with Samsung.
According to Tecno Mobile Kenya, pre-orders for the Camon 19 Series phones are now available at Safaricom Shops and on Jumia. One is expected to pay KES 2,000 and receive free wireless earbuds in recompense. When your order arrives, you will also receive a complimentary gift bag including products worth more than KES 7,000.
