Safaricom says the 4G Wi-Fi routers can connect up to 32 devices at a time and offer speeds of up to 150 Mbps.

The 5G network offers speeds of up to 700 Mbps and is expected to enable new applications such as virtual reality, augmented reality and cloud gaming.
Safaricom plans to expand its 5G network to more areas and offer affordable 5G smartphones through its Lipa Mdogo Mdogo financing scheme.
