Jack Ngare has been hired as a Technical Director in Google Cloud’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Ngare comes to Google Cloud with over 15 years of experience in numerous business responsibilities, most recently as the managing director of the Africa Development Centre in Kenya for Microsoft.
He was previously the managing director of Finserve Africa, a subsidiary of Equity Group. He is enthusiastic about collaborating with customers and assisting in the digital transformation process.
“Google Cloud’s Office of the CTO not only helps our customers create their future with technology but also guides Google on what challenges the world’s enterprises are trying to solve,” said Will Grannis, Chief Technology Officer. “We are thrilled to have Jack join our growing team and bring his expertise to companies based in Kenya and around the world.”
The Office of the Chief Technical Officer (OCTO) at Google Cloud is a global team of senior technology specialists and former business CTOs whose aim is to facilitate collaborative innovation between Google Cloud and its most important customers.
The team collaborates with customers to solve challenging business problems and advises businesses on how to use technology to enhance their operations.
To balance their approach, OCTO brings a mix of skills from both inside and outside of Google, and helps customers comprehend and take advantage of the full spectrum of Alphabet’s innovation.
OCTO can recognize and advise Google Cloud and Alphabet on emerging trends across sectors, countries, and components of the cloud stack that our platforms and products must address by working directly with customers.
“As Google Cloud builds its presence in Africa, I am honoured to join this growing team to better support local businesses,” said Jack Ngare. “With the growth of digitization, it is more important than ever to help companies use technology to modernise, scale, and reach their customers’ needs.”
