Snapchat has finally given in to user requests for the ‘Change username’ functionality, which have been on for years.
Snapchat is allowing users to change their usernames, which is one of the most significant aspects of any social media profile.
Before you can work on your new name, Snapchat will only allow you to change your Snapchat username once a year. You may never be able to use your old Snapchat username again if you change it.
You will also be unable to choose a username that has previously been used by another Snapchat user. This also implies you won’t be able to pick a username that is registered but inactive.
Finally, altering your username has no effect on your Contacts, Snap Code, Snap Score, or Memories on Snapchat.
To change your username…
- Tap ⚙️ in My Profile to open Settings
- Tap ‘Username’ under the ‘My Account’ section
- Tap ‘Change Username’
- Enter your new username, then tap ‘Next’
- Enter your password to confirm your username change, then tap ‘Confirm’
