TECNO Mobile Kenya has announced that Kenyan Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge will be the brand ambassador for its upcoming PHANTOM X2 series of smartphones.
The new flagship model will be unveiled at the Global Trade Centre, the tallest landmark complex in East Africa.
TECNO’s brand manager, Antony Brian Otieno, stated that the PHANTOM X2 series will feature a retractable portrait lens and a renewable fiber back cover, which make it one of the world’s pioneering devices in terms of innovation and technology.
In addition to its innovative features, the PHANTOM X2 series will also be made from recyclable materials, which is something that Kipchoge said was very important to him.
“Environmental protection is the most important part of protecting the next generation,” he stated. “I am excited to partner with the world’s pioneer in innovation and technology to achieve this.” Kipchoge also mentioned that he has been using TECNO mobile devices for the past 10 years and has always been impressed by their quality and design.
The PHANTOM X2 series will be available for pre-order between January 5 and January 18, 2023 at authorized TECNO branded shops, TECNO’s official website, and partners including Safaricom Shops and Jumia.
Pre-orders will come with exclusive bonuses, such as a smartwatch and a wireless headset for the PHANTOM X2 Pro, or a smartwatch and a quality backpack for the PHANTOM X2.
Media personality Caroline Mutoko, who is the Chief Project Evangelist for the PHANTOM series, stated that she was one of the first people to try out the new device and was very impressed by its design and feel.
