The National Bank of Kenya (NBK) Board of Directors has selected Peter Kioko as the bank’s interim Managing Director, beginning June 10, 2022.
The position became vacant after Paul Russo was appointed Chief Executive Officer of KCB Group PLC on May 25, 2022.
“KCB Group is delighted to have Peter steer National Bank to greater heights. Peter has played a pivotal role in driving the transformation of National Bank. Hence his appointment reflects our commitment to continue strengthening the business.” said Mr Russo during the announcement.
Peter is currently the Director, Finance and Strategy at NBK, having joined the bank in November 2016.
He brings over 25 years of total financial management experience to his new post, having served in a variety of leadership roles in several local and international organizations. Peter has previously served at East African Breweries Group Limited as the Head of Risk & Audit, Stanbic Bank as the Finance Manager – Corporate and Investment Banking, and Kenya Shell / BP Limited as the Group Financial Controller.
Prior to joining National Bank, he was the Finance Director of EABL. He graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option), a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Bradford, and is a Certified Public Accountant registered with ICPAK.
